Political parties have gotten us into this mess; the citizens of this state will have to get us out.
We as voters need to vote for the individual person running for public office, not for the political party next to their name. It’s not about red/blue, Republican or Democrat. Regardless of party, if you are failing the state then you need to go. Career politicians are ruining our state and have been for decades. The political parties continue to cater to these individuals while the ordinary citizens and taxpayers of this state get stuck paying the bill. Vince is being encouraged from neighbors on all sides of the isle; Democrats, Independents and Republicans, because they are all tired of this political machine. Vince will break this cycle by promising to not serve more than four (4)- two (2) year terms as State Representative. and his vote in Springfield will be based on the feedback and thoughts of his constituents in the 16th district rather than the views of any special interest or political party. The people of the 16th district and the people of Illinois are the only special interest that Vince will cater to when he is elected.
Having trained Police and being a self defense instructor. Vince has insight to what needs to be done to make our families and communities safer. Rejecting the "No Cash Bail" provisions in the "Safe-T" act and also holding prosecutors and judges accountable for letting criminals off or lightening sentences.
Vince has said for over a decade, that Illinois needs to be a top 5 place to do business... right now we are 48th. My opponent's plan is to tax businesses, but in reality anyone with a business 101 education would know that businesses do not pay taxes, they pass it on to the consumer (middle class). So they will be "taxing the middle class" in actuality.
If you value Parental Consent and childhood innocence, you need to vote for Vince. Government is taking parental consent away with the programs they are mandating in schools, keeping information from parents and making decisions and influencing their children.
Illinois is the highest taxes state in the union. The number one reason people leave the state is because of taxes. Democrats plan is to raise taxes on people and business, causing more of them to leave. Which in turn raises the taxes on the rest of us. We need a forensic audit of the state, reduce the number of taxing bodies (IL has over 7000 taxing units, while TX has only 1,700 with 4 times the population), and do a zero base budget to find out where the money is going. It is time to stop asking people to pay more (we are the highest taxes) and start asking "where the money is going?"
The economy is the major issue in Illinois right now! We are ranked near last (48th out of 50) in business climate. This climate is repelling jobs from our state and has to change. Currently our state is giving multi-million dollar tax breaks to convince large companies to stay in Illinois. This is not helping the small businesses in the state and it is not addressing why jobs are leaving Illinois. Our state has to set up a business friendly environment to start attracting jobs again so we can begin growing Illinois’ economy. Vince’s #1 priority is to make Illinois one of the top 5 places to do business in the United States and attract quality jobs that Illinoisans desperately need.
Illinois needs pension reform to stop individuals from robbing the taxpayers by collecting two and three tax-payer funded pensions, as well as stopping individuals from collecting pensions after working as little as one day. A business would never be able to afford to offer these types of benefits in the private sector, so why is this happening at tax payer expense? It’s time for Illinois politicians to stop using pension funding for their pet projects and start representing the citizens and tax payers of this state. It’s our money, it’s time for us to demand that they stop spending carelessly and stuffing their own pockets behind our backs.
Rather than just talking about pension reform, Vince will lead on this issue by purposing legislation that moves the state legislature’s pension from the backs and shoulders of taxpayers with the defined benefit programs to a defined contribution program. This will show that the legislature is willing to lead on the issue of taxpayer funded pensions.
Illinois has a reputation of corruption and fraud, and the people of Illinois need to end the cycle theft and payoffs that the political machine has maintained for the last century. Dignity needs to be restored to our great states name! Elimination of waste and corruption will help us lower our debt and force our politicians to start using tax payer’s dollars responsibly, this, in turn, will attract business and jobs back to Illinois.

This petition/idea was brought by Vince Romano to build a wall along 94(Edens) through Lincolnwood and Skokie. It will not only raise the property values in all of the 16th District but also provide safety to the residents and help keep noise and air pollution out of our communities.
The result will improve those parts of the 16th State House district for our children and community.
